What
People Say…
“Thank you is really not adequate for
your time, dedication and service to our Denton County Taskforce,
but Thank You!!! Knowing that the showers were available at the
end of a long day helped many trudge on through the slop and muck
of Hurricane Ike. This mission that you and your wife have undertaken
is going to reach many people who do not have anything positive
to hold on too, and I thank GOD that he has workers in the field
such as you to help our fellow man.”
Kind Regards,
Darrell Brown, Assistant Chief
Lewisville (TX) Fire Department
“You certainly deserved a lot of credit for what you did
for us and the residents of Bacliff/San Leon. You’ve got a
great program there and I hope you are able to capture the interest
of an organization that can help you sustain the effort.”
Paul Siebert
Deputy Chief
Frisco (TX) Fire Department
“I can't put in words how thankful I am for the showers
and how you cared for us while in Bacliff. You are a great person
and a true "giver;" this world is a better place because
of people like you. Thanks!!!”
Monty R. Moon
Coppell Fire Dept.
FF/Paramedic
"I want to say Thank You. I was part of the Denton County Task Force that
pulled into Bacliff on Thursday, Sept 18th. The power (and fans) were
questionable after searching in San Leon all day; but, the 23:00 hour shower
was definitely refreshing. After two nights of garden hose showers, hot
water was welcome. Thanks!"

"First responders, by nature, are there to help people
through a crisis. They put their own comforts aside for a period
of time in order to help their fellow man. When the fatigue of helping
encroaches on the ability to help, a warm shower washes away the
dirt, sweat, and challenges of the day. We are renewed with a fresh
strength to go on with our task of helping those we are there for.
The shower truck makes our job easier on us."

“When Hurricane Rita took a direct hit at Lake Charles,
the city was devastated. After long days in the heat and humidity,
a sponge bath of Purel simply didn't do the trick. Your portable
shower facility will prove a Godsend should the need arise again.”

"One of the great needs for First Responders and volunteers
after Katrina was a way for them to clean up after a hard day of
mucking thorough debris. With running water not being available
for week, First Responders had to take sponge baths in attempts
to stay clean. Your shower truck would have been a gift from Heaven
following Katrina."

“Man that truck looks great!! I just want you to know
that you have done well with that project and it will be well used
and very appreciated by the responders at any disaster scene. As
one that has used similar shower units, it does so much for us to
support our efforts. It makes our job easier on us. Thanks again,
it is an awesome truck.”

“We spent many days I spent in Pascagoula and Biloxi after
Katrina in desperate need of a good shower. We finally got a mobile
shower unit and it felt like real luxury just to get a wet shower
-- warm wasn't always part of the package, but water is water. When
a shower unit finally rolled in it didn't take long to get used
to having a shower every day. You even thought about warm water!
God bless you. I am so proud of what you and Donna have done. You
have made Aiken proud as well.”
Tim Mansell
Aiken, SC
“Two lessons I learned from Hurricane Katrina, First Responders
and volunteers, need a hot meal at the end of the day and a nice
warm shower. These two items are essential if you are going to have
good morale. While a hot meal could be found after Katrina, it was
harder to find a place to take a shower. Your Emergency Shower Truck
is something needed in any major disaster.”
